Mercedes releases CLC teaser

The new Mercedes CLC coupé will get its public unveiling at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin (January 27 - 31) before going on sale later in the spring. Mercedes is aiming the new CLC at younger customers but, unlike the outgoing C-Class Sports Coupé, it should be significantly cheaper than the equivalent C-Class saloon. That's possible because Mercedes has based the car around the old Sports Coupé rather than using the new C-Class as a starting point. Mercedes says that 1,100 components have been either developed from scratch or refined from the previous model, with the main highlights being the new steering system, modern infotainment systems and more powerful four-cylinder engines. The model (the car, that is, not the girl) in the teaser photograph is a Sport model with 18-inch alloys and a lowered sport suspension. More details will be announced later in the month.
