Mazda facelifts RX-8

Mazda has tweaked the RX-8 for 2008 but it's not as radical a facelift as we had expected. The exterior revisions are limited to new bumpers, new light clusters, larger exhaust pipes and new wheel designs, while inside the RX-8 there's a new instrument panel and new steering wheel and the front and rear seats have also been revised. Mechanically, the changes are limited to a front strut brace, tweaked rear suspension geometry and a slightly lower differential gear ratio on manual models. According to the U.S. press release, a new 'R3' Sport Pack will also be offered, which includes a sport suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers; front suspension cross-members filled with urethane foam; rear spoiler; side skirts; fog lights; a re-styled front bumper; 19-inch alloys; a Bose surround sound stereo; Bluetooth; Recaro sport seats and Keyless go. It's unlikely the R3 Pack will be offered in Ireland, though.
